Privacy declaration

Legal Point respects the privacy of the visitors to its website, in particular the rights of visitors with regard to the automated processing of personal data. This privacy statement explains how Legal Point handles the processing of personal data. This is in line with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For example, it is indicated which (categories of) personal data are collected and for what purpose the personal data are used. Legal Point also indicates which legal basis is the basis for the processing of personal data.

1. Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

Legal Point is responsible for the processing of personal data as shown in this privacy statement. Legal Point is registered in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 82114285. Legal Point can be reached by email at info@legal-point.nl and by telephone on +31 6 2371 5270.
2. Which personal data do we process?

Personal data is all information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This means that information is either directly about someone or can be traced back to this person. Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we can in any case process:
- basic information such as your first and last name, gender, the company where you work or your position;
- contact details such as postal address, telephone number or e-mail address;
- additional personal data, such as proof of identity, date of birth or nationality;
- financial information, such as your bank account number;
technical data, such as your IP address;
- all other personal data that we receive from or about you or that we can obtain ourselves and that we use for the purposes listed below.
3. How do we get your personal data?
In most cases, we obtain your personal data from yourself, for example when executing your requests for legal support, during telephone conversations or email exchanges with our lawyers, by visiting our website or by filling in a form on our website.
4. For what purpose and on what basis does Legal Point process your personal data?
We only process your personal data insofar as this is necessary in the performance of legal services to you, in the performance of our legal obligations or if you have given us specific permission for this. When processing, we ensure that no more personal data is processed than necessary for sound legal advice and handling of your case, as well as the (financial) settlement thereof. These data are treated with complete confidentiality.
5. Why do we process this personal data?

We only process the personal data that is necessary for the preparation, execution and completion of the relevant assignment that we have with you (such as providing advice and other legal activities). In addition, we process personal data in order to be able to comply with legal or tax obligations. We can also process personal data to promote our legitimate interests, such as improving our services. If your personal data is processed on the basis of permission, you will be explicitly asked for permission.

6. Who do we share personal data with?
Legal Point does not share your personal data with third parties and only provides it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you (think of engaging another third party on behalf of and on behalf of Legal Point, such as a bailiff, courier or judicial authorities) or to comply with a legal obligation. We conclude a processor agreement with third parties who process your data on behalf of and on behalf of Legal Point to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Legal Point remains responsible for these processing operations.
7. How long do we keep your personal data?
Legal Point does not store personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which data is collected. If there is a statutory retention obligation or a retention period based on professional or code of conduct, we will adhere to those periods.
8. How do we protect your personal data?
Legal Point takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact us at info@legal-point.nl.
9. What rights do you have under the GDPR?
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Legal Point and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have about you in a computer file to you or another organization mentioned by you.
You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request for cancellation of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to info@legal-point.nl.
To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your ID with the request. Make your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN) black in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.
Legal Point would also like to point out that you have the opportunity to file a complaint with the national privacy regulator, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Legal Point reserves the right to make changes to the privacy policy. Therefore, check the privacy policy regularly for any updates.
